Audiences of all ages enjoy the swinging sounds of big band music and hilarious backstage antics of The 1940s Radio Hour! The world may be locked in the titanic struggle of the Second World War, but inside the studio of the WOV radio station, the show must go on! The theater audience plays the part of the “live studio audience,” enjoying the fantastic Cavalcade singers, dancers, actors and musicians as they perform toe-tapping favorites such as “Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Blue Moon,” “That Old Black Magic,” “I'll be Seeing You,” “Blues in the Night,” and many others. The story centers on a group of performers and their attempts to make it to the "big time" in show biz while dealing with a harassed producer, a crazy lead singer, a hilarious sound effects guy, a delivery boy who wants a chance in front of the microphone, and a second banana who dreams of being a crooner. With its catchy score, high-energy comedy, hilarious sound effects, and nostalgia for a bygone era, this is a show for the entire family.
