“Come to the Cabaret, old chum!”
The Rose Center Theater is proudly presenting
CABARET
Kander & Ebbs Smash Broadway hit
full of decadence, delight, music & merriment.
Cabaret is set in 1930’s Berlin and follows the lives of the eccentric English Cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with author Cliff Bradshaw, an American abroad in search of a novel. The Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience to the show and assures them that, whatever their troubles, they will forget them all at the Cabaret. A difficult thing to do in the explosive era leading up to the Third Reich. A powerful piece combining the deception of taudry nightclub performers combined with the awareness of history not repeating itself, this explosive musical drama is guarranteed to send you out the door singing the first rate score with renewed enlightenment on the history of the world. Also an Academy Award winning movie, Cabaret featured superstar Liza Minelli in the role of Sally which won her an Academy Award.
In the Rose’s production, we are proud to present all of the decadent characters in truly professional style – the lead role of Sally Bowles, the author Cliff Bradshaw. The tragic Fraulein Schneider - an elderly spinster with rooms to rent and a December romance with one of her boarders, Herr. Also on board is the German revolutionist Ernst Ludwig, and the harsh seductress turned performer Fraulein Kost. Threading the story together is the wry, impish Master of Ceremonies whose songs provide visual relief and commentary throughout the show.
Cabaret will open on Friday November 14th, and close on Sunday November 23rd Friday and Saturday Evening Performances begin at 7:30 PM, Sunday Matinees begin at 2:00 PM.
Come and witness this musical event, and experience the Cabaret for yourself!
