The Rose Center Theater is seeking singers, dancers, and performers to bring to life the colorful musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The Rose Center Theater encourages performers of all races and ethnicities, abilities, identities, and religions to audition.

YOUTH CHORUS (ages 8-15) Audition Date & Time

Monday January 15th start at 4:00 PM and will last roughly 2 hours

Although the producers prefer you to audition in-person, they will accommodate for self-tape requests on a case by case basis. To request self-tape information please fill out the audition form here.

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION

Please prepare & bring sheet music for a similar style musical theater song. If singing to an instrumental backing track please have your music device cued up and ready to plug-in. Song cuts should be no longer than 32 bars or 1-minute in length. Singing from the show is acceptable. An accompanist and score will be provided.

Please bring a HEADSHOT and RESUME.

Everyone auditioning, will be requested to take part in a dance/movement evaluation. Please dress and/or bring appropriate clothes and shoes accordingly.

CALLBACKS

Callbacks will be at the invitation of the Artistic Team and are scheduled to take place Wednesday January 17th at 7:00 PM

CONTRACT

A pay stipend will be provided. This is a non-union production.

ROLES NARRATOR: Strong rock singing voice. Strong with comedy and moves well. JOSEPH – Tenor. The eleventh son of Jacob. Obviously his father's favorite, Joseph early on shows a talent for interpreting dreams and telling the future. This gets him into trouble with his brothers when he predicts his future will include ruling over the other eleven. However, it saves his life when in Egypt he correctly interprets Pharaoh's dreams. In the end he has risen to a great position of power, but he still forgives his brothers and brings his family to Egypt to partake of the bounty he has accumulated there. JACOB – JOSEPH’s father. JOSEPH'S BROTHERS – Eleven brothers with strong singing voices, the ability to dance. Requires featured solo brothers for Country and Western style in "One More Angel in Heaven," Jacques Brel/Maurice Chevalier style for "Canaan Days," two brothers to double the BUTLER and BAKER, and a strong dancer with partnering ability (Adagio) in "The Apache." REUBEN SIMEON LEVI NAPHTALI ISSACHAR ASHER DAN ZEBULON GAD BENJAMIN JUDAH – Sings Harry Belafonte style in "Benjamin Calypso" POTIPHAR – A Noel Coward type character. MRS. POTIPHAR BUTLER – Character role with a look that contrasts with the BAKER. BAKER – Character role with a look that contrasts with the BUTLER. PHARAOH – Good actor/singer.  Elvis Presley impersonator type who moves well. WIVES - Strong singers and dancers to play wives of JOSEPH'S BROTHERS
