About the Show
Fiddler on the Roof is a Rose Center Theater musical production featuring music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and a book by Joseph Stein. Set in a small Eastern European village at the turn of the 20th century, this timeless classic follows Tevye, a devoted husband and father striving to preserve his traditions as his family and community confront a changing world.
As Tevye’s daughters begin to challenge long-held customs and outside forces reshape their way of life, the story unfolds with warmth, humor, and emotional depth. Fiddler on the Roof explores universal themes of love, faith, resilience, and the bonds that hold families together, resonating with audiences across generations.
Featuring one of musical theater’s most iconic scores, including “Tradition,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Matchmaker,” and “Sunrise, Sunset,” this production delivers heartfelt performances and rich storytelling that honor the legacy of this beloved musical while keeping the focus on character and connection.
