Bright Blue Sky: the 9/11 Musical Comes to Rose Center Theater This September

Twenty-five years after September 11, 2001, an original musical set on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center's North Tower is coming home to Westminster, CA. Back from its acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Rose Center Theater will present Bright Blue Sky: the 9/11 Musical for five performances only this September, timed to the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

An Entirely Original Story

Written by Vincent Aniceto (book and lyrics) with music by Tim Nelson, Bright Blue Sky is entirely original material. The show follows a group of people working in the World Trade Center on the morning of September 11, 2001. During these desperate hours, not knowing whether the day will end as it began, the characters come together through their differences to find their shared humanity. In a series of charming, endearing, and deeply heartfelt vignettes, each character relives moments from their past, revealing a story of hope within tragedy and loss within love.

"Twenty-five years is long enough that some of our own cast weren't alive for it, but short enough that plenty in our community still remember exactly where they were on that day," said co-creator Tim Nelson. "We built this show to hold space for both, and to give this community a place to remember, together, this year especially."

Bright Blue Sky: the 9/11 Musical is suggested for ages 13 and up and runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
