The holiday season is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than by gathering your friends and family, and flying into the enchanting world of live theater? Orange County's performing arts scene is about to be graced by the return of a beloved classic – Disney & Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins – at the Rose Center Theater in Westminster. Get ready for a magical holiday spectacle that promises to transport you to old London Town and beyond!

Mary Poppins Returns to the Rose Center Theater

The Rose Center Theater is thrilled to announce that Mary Poppins will be making her grand return this December, spreading joy and wonder from December 1st through 3rd and then again from December 14th through 17th. This heartwarming production promises to be a jolly holly holiday extravaganza filled with music, laughter, and entertainment for the entire family.

Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's musical Mary Poppins follows the Banks family on a musical journey guided by the magical nanny herself, Mary Poppins. Together, they rediscover the power of family and the limitless possibilities of imagination. It's a story that has touched hearts for generations and continues to do so. Of the many highlights of this Disney classic is the unforgettable music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, along with a captivating book by Julian Fellowes. Additionally, Anthony Drewe and George Stiles have contributed new songs and additional music and lyrics, adding a fresh twist to the beloved tale. Audiences attending this highly anticipated production can look forward to enjoying all of the classic tunes we've come to know and love, including "A Spoonful of Sugar," "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," and "Chim Chim Cher-ee."

A Magical Team Behind the Scenes

Behind every successful theater production, there's a dedicated team of individuals who bring the magic to life. Director and Musical Director Tim Nelson expressed his enthusiasm for the show, calling it "pure magic" and assuring us that it's a "real feel-good show for the entire family this holiday season." Choreographer Diane Makas, too, is excited to be part of this cherished classic, stating, "Mary Poppins is such a cherished classic that tugs at the heartstrings. I'm constantly inspired by the depth of the story, and I'm working to ensure that the choreography reflects that emotional depth of the show." The attention to detail and the commitment to capturing the essence of the story is truly remarkable.

Technical Director Chris Caputo added, "Re-creating the magical world of Mary Poppins is a challenge that the theater is ready to conquer. We are hard at work crafting the intricate sets to do justice to the enchantment that audiences have come to expect with this Disney favorite." Rest assured, the stage will be set to immerse you in the world of Mary Poppins like never before.
