Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella is a musical originally written for television, but later adapted for the stage. With music by Richard Rodgers and book by Oscar Hammerstein II, the musical is based on the classic fairy tale, Cinderella. The story is about a young woman forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother and self-centered stepsisters, who dreams of a better life. With the help of her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella is transformed into a Princess and finds her Prince.

In the song "Ten Minutes Ago" The Prince is bored by the attention of all the young ladies with whom he has had to dance, including the stepsisters. Cinderella's grand entrance immediately attracts everyone's attention and intrigues the Prince. They dance together and instantly fall in love.
